WWDC 2012: Apple Expected to Present the iTV OS Interface and New API

WWDC 2012 is fast approaching, and rumors began to emerge regarding the content of the presentations to be made by Apple. BGR claims that Apple is expected to present a new interface which the company will use in future iTV, device that should be released by the end of this year. The interface would be implemented in Apple TV 3rd generation, released at the same time with the new iPad 3 tablet in March this year.

The interesting part of this TV is a new “control out” API, which will allow third-party manufacturers to develop accessories with which we will have control over the TV and any connected components. This API would be compatible with the Apple remote and iOS app as well, allowing us to control the Apple TV. The problem right now lies in finding manufacturers willing to implement this API in an Apple TV. read more

The New iPhone 5 is Likely to be Fitted with a New USB Connector

According to information obtained by iMore, the famous 30-pin USB connector could become history after the new iPhone 5 will be released, since Apple actively working to develop a new and smaller connector. According to sources will not be MicroUSB because of the low transfer speed and will not be Thunderbolt for the technology does not exist in every computer. A new type of connector that probably will generate more compatibility issues than the current.

Why Apple wants to change the current connector with a smaller one? Perhaps because of the space it occupies in iPhone and iPod Touch.

Looks like Apple is not happy with the current 30-pin USB connector, although it uses more than a decade, and try to change it with a smaller one. The iPhone’s dock replacement would be a move similar to the one that Apple made the transition from SIM to MicroSam. The empty space allowed by the old connector could be used to include a better battery or chip compatible with 4G networks. read more

Only Two Weeks Could Separate Us from the Launch of a New 15-inch MacBook Air

Did not pass one year from the release date of the latest MacBook Air and already rumors emerged suggesting that Apple is planning to update its supply in stores. A new MacBook Air with a 15-inch screen appears to be in work and a manufacturer of accessories for Apple said that in April we see the product on the market.

Because the information comes from a manufacturer we should take the rumors with a very high “dose” of distrust, considering that Apple do not provide any confidential information with this type of partners.

Certainly it is not the first time we hear about the possible release of a 15-inch screen MacBook Air, however the time-frame presented now did not quite fit with Intel’s announcement a few weeks ago. A company representative said that the launch of the new Ivy Bridge processors will be delayed until June so launching a MacBook Air in April seems impossible if Intel will keep the new plans. read more

Future Apple Devices Might Keep their Base Name

More and more people talk about The new iPhone release date, instead of iPhone 5, after Apple generated confusion presenting the latest iPad tablet titled The new iPad. The new device would not be called iPad 3/iPad HD but simply The new iPad, the Cupertino company preferring to apply a new formula. Vice President Phill Schiiler, said the naming was based on the desire of the company to become unpredictable, and we all agree that they succeeded.

Though, Apple’s choice is not new, actually the company already successfully applied this strategy to Mac’s or iPod’s. All Mac’s keep their name when a new version is released, some iPods apply the same strategy and now everything is transferred to the iPad tablet.

The documentation on the supply of the new tablet, Apple refers to it as the 3rd generation iPad but on their website simply says The new iPad. Some name the latest tablet iPad 3 or iPad 4G, etc. but Apple simply calls it The new iPad, and we should get used to the name because applying this strategy, future Apple devices like the new iPhone, will keep the base name. read more

It is Possible that Apple will Rush the New iPhone 5 Release Date

Although everyone expects Apple to release iPhone 5 until in autumn this year, some U.S. analysts believe that the new iPhone will be available much sooner for users. The reason why Apple would rush the release date? Falling sales for the iPhone 4S, a terminal that looks just like iPhone 4 and nearly a year after release would not have too much demand on the market. Taking into account the Android suite that will be released in summer this could be true though.

Apple had an exceptional fourth quarter, selling 35.5 million smartphones to end users, a 121.4 percent increase year on year. Apple’s continued attention to channel management helped it take full advantage of the strong quarter to further close the gap with Samsung, which saw some inventory build up for its smartphone range. Apple’s strong performance will continue into the first quarter of 2012 as availability of the iPhone 4S widens. However, since Apple will not benefit from delayed purchases as it did in the fourth quarter of 2011, Gartner analysts expect its sales to decline quarter-on-quarter.

On the happenings of last year is very clear that a Samsung Galaxy S III and new powerful Android terminals will affect the market share of iPhone and in Q3 2012 Apple will probably sell less than 30 million iPhone’s worldwide. The New iPhone Could be Compatible with 4G LTE Networks

In autumn this year may be the release date of The new iPhone that could have LTE 4G connectivity and even an A5X chip that is already available in The new iPad tablet. According to close sources, DigiTimes claims that the next iPhone model will be used on networks including 4G LTE, just like The new iPad that Apple released last week. The new iPhone, which is seems to be released in the second half of 2012, will bring the number of mobile devices sold equipped with such technology to over 45 million.

As the new iPad supports LTE and a new version of iPhone to be launched in the second half of 2012 is very likely to support LTE as well, other vendors are expected to equip their new flagship smartphones with LTE functionality and this is likely to drive up global sales of LTE-enabled smartphones in 2012 from the originally projected 25-30 million units to 45-50 million units, according to Taiwan-based smartphone makers.

Unfortunately the main problem of terminals compatible with 4G LTE network is the frequencies support available in different countries. Basically The new iPad tablet will not work on any 4G network across Europe if Apple will not find a way to extend the compatibility of 4G chip with other frequencies. read more

Apple Prepares to Release a New Apple TV. Only 4 U.S. Stores Still Have the Old Model in Stock

Besides iPad 3 will most likely see a new model of Apple TV. From more than 200 U.S. Apple stores only 4 still have the model in stock, mentioning that only on 9/15 March a new model will be available in stores. Given that the new Apple TV will be presented on March 7, term of availability for March 16 would be correct because iPad 3 will also be available in stores.

So far rumored that a new Apple TV with J33 code that will have a dual-core processor, a powerful graphics chip capable of displaying multimedia content in 1080p format on TV.

It is clear that Apple will replace the product since 90% of its stores no longer have in stock, and since the iPad 3 will be released, is most likely to see a new Apple TV. The information received so far suggest that only in U.S. will be initially released the new Apple TV, in other countries will be available in coming weeks. read more
